Sharing a layer across different policies
A new feature in R80 Management is sharing of layers in Access Control. You can enable this feature by editing any layer and selecting "share this layer across policies". You will then be able to point to the same set of rules in different policies.
One use-case could be sharing the same application control rules across different policies. Adding an application rule to a layer will automatically update all the policies that use it - and the Gateways with only an "Install Policy" click away.
This feature is completely backward-compatible with all existing versions of the Check Point Gateways.
