CCSE Expired Certification Renewal

Hello

My CCSE certification is about to expire in 30 days. I have read that you can still take the same CCSE exam when your CCSE certificate expires. Is there a maximum number of months/years you can let your cert expired before renewing it? I'm currently not on the IT space and planning to renew it after 6months or so.

Need your advice. Thank you.

It would be a good idea to renew it before it expires, so you could renew it for 1 year by passing any specialist (CCTA, CCTE, etc) exam or for 2 years by passing the full-blown CCSE exam.  Once your CCSE expires your only path to renew is the full-blown CCSE exam.  There used to be a "CCSE Update" exam that you could pass to renew/extend your CCSE cert but that exam has been retired.  See here: sk163417: Check Point Learning & Training FAQ

Hello @Timothy_Hall

Thank you for your reply. However, i'm currently not working in the IT industry and wanted to renew this once i go back in the IT space. I am just worried that if i let my certification expired for too long, i would have to get back to CCSA renewal first before renewing my CCSE certification.

Currently, an expired CCSE can recertify at the CCSE level.  We do not intend to change this prerequisite.

Thanks
