CCSA R82 Exam: How heavy is the CLI/Expert mode portion?

Hi everyone, I'm currently studying for the CCSA R82 certification using the official courseware. For those who have recently taken the 156-215.82 exam, how much focus is there on the new R82 features (like AI-powered threat prevention) versus core Gaia CLI and security policy management?

Additionally, I'm looking for reliable practice exams to test my knowledge. Besides the official 156-609 practice exam, are there any other high-quality resources or labs you would recommend to prepare for the actual exam environment?

Any tips or guidance would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

The exam is generally evenly weighted across the Modules (chapters).

Considering that the Autonomous TP Module is about 8 pages long (8 pages in a 522 page book) I would not expect many of the 100 questions to be around that.

The best tip you can get is to study the book, which you are doing. That is the key to passing the exam.

Read the book twice or study it properly, making notes as you go.

Read through the labs to pick up any notes that could seed exam questions. Page 238 is a nice example that I can imagine could have been be used to seed an exam question.

While you study, read each sentence or paragraph and ask yourself how you might create a question around that text 😉

Anything outside of Check Mates and here: https://www.pearsonvue.com/us/en/checkpoint.html and here: https://securityservices.checkpoint.com/categories/trainingprograms is probably not worth bringing up in here.

Hi there,

Thank you so much for your detailed response and for sharing those resources. I truly appreciate you taking the time to guide me on the exam structure.

I've already started applying your advice—reading the book thoroughly and trying to 'think like an exam creator' for every paragraph. I also took a deep dive into page 238 as you suggested; that tip about the different 'Install Policy' buttons is exactly the kind of technical detail I needed to watch out for.

I feel much more confident heading into my exam, thanks to your help. I'll be sure to check the Exam Prep Guide and the CheckMates threads you linked.

Best regards,

Julio
