In case you get this error when trying to run a portable version of SmartConsole like I was doing this morning in Windows 10:

The answer is pretty simple.

Before uncompressing the ZIP file, right-click on the zip file and "unblock" it before unzipping.

Then, when you unzip the file and run SmartConsole.exe, it should work.

Actually there are more reasons for this error.

One of them is incompatible client and server versions especially if one of them was a part of the EA program.

If neither advice (unblock before unzipping, check SmartConsole and Management Server versions) helps, please open a support ticket - we want to help on this error as there are more potential reasons for it.
