R82 Smart IPS Settings?
Apparently R82 has a new feature called "Smart IPS" which temporarily disables IPS protections that are consuming excessive CPU resources. OK I give up, where is this feature and its associated configuration fields like "Hours" located in the R82 SmartConsole:
sk182937: How to Dynamically Calculate the Smart IPS Protection Disabling Time
Is this feature related to the new R82 ips protections disabled command?

Turns out this SK was released by mistake as it is a feature planned for R82.10.
However, it is as we suspect: an improvement on the existing Bypass Under Load functionality.

Possible this feature will not be available until a future JHF.

Based on Tim's description, sounds like a very good feature actually.

I am coordinating with the owner in R&D to gather additional details. I will provide an update as soon as I have the information.

This sounds like the same thing as "ByPass under load"

I'm assuming it is similar, except it applies to a specific signature.
