Clean Install w/h MTA package

Yesterday, I wanted to test clean install on a lab server. I took system backup and did clean install from blink image (R80.40 + T48). All went well up to the point where I had to restore from system backup. It failed telling me that I have missing dependency (R80.40 MTA T7). I tried to import the package but this also failed because of MTA not running. So, I had to re-establish SIC and install policy to get MTA running. Then everything was fine, happy end.

I am thinking if there is actually faster way to do this I am not aware of? Like install MTA package overriding dependencies ? Or login and try to start MTA manually w/o policy install ?

Your advice please ?

Hi,

from the backup/restore point of view,

There is an option of overriding the missing dependencies during Gaia restore in sk105883

Excellent, thank you!

@yonathanp I tried this procedure and managed to restore from backup but now it is telling me that MTA Take 7 is already installed while in fact it is not. I do not have the option to re-install the package so I need to uninstall and install again.
