Anti-Bot - Update fails with "Failed to load database" error

Hi,

 

In one of our customer's gateway cluster the Anti-Bot update keeps failing intermittently with Anti-Bot - Update fails with "Failed to load database" error

We even tried to kill the load_sigs process and force an update manually according to sk165562 - Nothing works: Anti-Bot/Anti-Virus/IPS Update fails with "Failed to load database" error (checkpoint.com)

 

The issue gets resolved as soon as we do cpstop; cpstart 

The internet connectivity from management server and the gateways are fine and they can reach the CheckPoint services too.

 

What could be the reason and a permanent solution to it?

Is it only AB blade or IPS as well? When did it start happening?

Only Anti-Bot. Since it was deployed. 

The appliances are running the recommended version - R81.20 JHF Take 41.

I know in the old days on CP issue like this could have been fixed simply by unchecking the blade, installing policy, re-checking, install policy again. Not sure if you tried that, but if not, might be worth doing it. Otherwise, maybe TAC case would be good idea to investigate further.

Done that before. Recently, the management server database was migrated to a new virtual machine too. This too did not resolve the issue.

Haven't tried to remove and reinstall the TP blades after that. Will do that and update here (But the issue occurs randomly).

If it continues to persist, will raise a TAC case.
