SmartMove and Cisco Security Contexts

Hello mates,

if you have an old Cisco ASA appliance using security contexts, are you able to use SmartMove for migration to Checkpoint? I did not see anything related to that in the knowledge base.
Has anybody already done this so far?
I believe migrating a cisco asa using security contexts leads to use VSX on the checkpoint gateway, right?
Any hint is appreciated

best regards
Vincent

With the basic firewall settings (policy and objekts), it actually works quite well. VPN I changed manually.

After that there is still one more work to do.

A few weeks ago I received a newer version of the support.

You can find more information under the following link:

How to migrate a competitor's database to Check Point with SmartMove

The ASA version must be 8.3 or newer and Check Point R80.10 management.

As far as I know, the Security Contecte will not be implemented. But would open a ticket again if necessary.

Heiko

Can you run a quick test to see if that's possible. After that you will get due scripts to run on the Managemnet. You can check the scripts to see what comes out.

Hi Vincent,

I'm the developer of SmartMove tool.

Please refer to the link that Heiko provided. It states that only firewall and nat policies and accompanied objects are migrated. Cisco Security Contexts migration is not supported yet. You should migrate it manually.

Robert.
