Threat Extraction Error: Processes are not running

Hi guys,

I've received an error and couldn't find a solution to this in checkpoint sk or checkmates so I wanted to share with you the solution.

the error is: 
"Threat Extraction Error: Processes are not running."

so there is a simple solution to this. 

just double-click the gateway object > general properties > Threat prevention > disable Threat Extraction, and press OK.
install the policy, enable it again, and install the policy again and it solves it.

I would work with TAC to troubleshoot this further.

I cant say Im overly surprised that happens. I know fix @dannymo gave, at least in my experience, used to work well in old days of CP (Im talking versions R77.xx and before), but I find in R80 and above, not so much.
