migration from one SMS to a different SMS
Hi,
We're planning to migrate everything from Smart-1 405 running R80.40 to Smart-1 600-S running R81, where the Smart-1 600-S will be replacing Smart-1 405 using the same IP address.
If based on what i read is correct, i just follow the "Upgrading a Security Management Server or Log Server from R80.20 and higher with Migration" section in the R81 INSTALLATION AND UPGRADE GUIDE. Appreciate your comments regarding this.
Thanks

Personally, even for R81, I had done old school migrate export steps and always works without issues, but CP does recommend using migrate_server starting in R80.20
Cheers.

migrate_server is also used in cited "Upgrading a Security Management Server or Log Server from R80.20 and higher with Migration" section in the R81 INSTALLATION AND UPGRADE GUIDE

Correct, yes...I was just pointing out what I always use and it works, but you are 100% right, this method is what is officially supported now.
