Wake on LAN to different subnet

Is it possible to forward Wake On LAN packets from one subnet to another?

Maybe IP broadcast helper can do but as destination you can configure a unicast address only. Some SOHO appliances from other vendors have such a feature but in GAiA I can't find anything.

As far as I remember with IPSO you could send a broadcast from one subnet to another subnet as broadcast.

Hello Chris, thanks for the hint.

but how is it possible to generate it locally at the appliance for 1 subnet?

my only idea is to use a netcat script. Or is there allready a script availlable?

Thanks Mario

It works on normal (not SMB) appliances by setting and IP helper for UDP-7 to an unused IP in the Subnet and then adding a static ARP entry for that IP to ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff.

One additional question: The config for the IP broadcast helper ist in /etc/routed0.conf, the routed-daemon and it's configuration are available on the SMB devices as well, so the question is, if this routed would support it as well or if it is stripped down?
