Hello,
I am working on simulating VSX on my VMware. I have already created a MGMT server and another VM for Virtual Gateway and have established SIC between them.
Now when I try to add a Virtual system from the Console, it prompts me with the attached error.
Can someone advice what am I missing ? I am looking to create two Virtual Systems in the VSX GW.
Thanks
SK
Ok, I would recommend to remove the gateway and reinstall it. That's looking fishy...
What choices did you make in the gateway object creation wizard?

HI Chris,
I was trying to refer few more additional configs and the play list seems to be moved/removed.
Could you pls share a link if its still alive ?
Thanks
Srini
As the hardware is shown as "Open Server", I think you haven't created a VSX gateway, but a normal one.
VSX gateways show hardware type as "VSX".
Thanks for your response and this is what I did.
1. Created a VM server for Gateway alone
2. From the management console, added the VM as Virtual Gateway. Established SIC.
3. Then tried creating VM system. But it wudnt .
Please show a screenshot of the menu item you used to create the gateway in SmartConsole.
Interesting, can you try to issue a "vsx stat" in Expert Mode or a "show vsx" in clish on the gateway itself to see what the gateway thinks it is?

Hi Norbert,
I am exactly doing that 🙂 . I am pretty sure it wasn't reading open server earlier...or may be I wasn't paying enough attention to that.
Let me redo and see how I go.
Thanks
Srini
And to close of this thread, yes reinstall did the trick. Though I fail to understand why it behaved the way it did.
Closing it and thank you for your time on this.
Much appreciated !
