I have tried to upgrade my appliance from R77.3 to R80.4 but the process fails at 39% when importing the database, and I cannot log in with new smart console of R80.4 , whenever I log in from the new portal of R80.4, I get the message that "the upgrade is still running . login to the status and action page to see the progress".
I was told that the database is corrupted and I need to reset the appliance to the default to fix the database, then re-upgrade it again.
can some one tell me if there is a short way to fix this, either to fix the corrupted database or how to reset and then re-upgrade the appliance again.
Im trying to avoid resetting and reconfiguring all the settings I had done before.

TAC could be able to fix the R77.30 database. If the upgrade verification did not show any issues this would be the way to proceed.

Can you share who told you that the database was corrupted?
Can you share the Upgrade Report? It is located in the CPUSE page on the right. Press on the link to open the report.

Hello Team,
I am also getting same issue for version upgrade from R80.10 to R80.40.
Verifier says all good for upgrade and clean install.
2 Times I did try and failed at same point.
database import stuck at 46% for more than 48 hours.
Finally i did roll back. I followed below mention steps.
1: check latest update from cpuse.
2: download the pkg.
3: click on verify --> good for clean install and upgrade
4: click on upgrade.
5: process stopped at 46%.
I am missing anything?

For lab enviournment on evaluate license of 15 days there is no tac support....
I got my mistakes anyways....
1) From r80. 10 to r80. 40 JHF I was trying to install.... Without major version of r80. 40 we cant go directly on jhf.... It seems like that....
2) I did try r81. 10 directly.... Hence failed... We have to follow upgrade path...
Now issue got resolved....
Let's go back to the beginning: what exactly is being upgraded here?
Hardware? Is it a gateway, management, or both?
If management, you should probably use an advanced migration per: https://sc1.checkpoint.com/documents/R80.40/WebAdminGuides/EN/CP_R80.40_Installation_and_Upgrade_Gui...
This means installing R80.40 from scratch on different hardware (or a VM).
It was SMS server upgrade on same VM.
Its on esxi server for Lab.
Its r80.10 now I came to r81.10.
