Test License for lab use

Hi all,

I have been reading up and ever since I worked with Checkpoint (2005) there was a lab license limited on CPU and bandwidth. However this seems to have vanished.

Someone did mention that you can use eval licenses. ( https://community.checkpoint.com/t5/Security-Gateways/NFR-licence-for-homelab-hardware/td-p/80103 )  And of course this is an option. But can you request those endlessly? We do use checkpoint at our company.

Any help is appreciated in setting up a testing environment.

You can not get evals endlessly but I don't have in mind how many you are able to create until the limit is reached.

It's a non prod greenfield. So it will need to run endlessly, just not connected to any real network (or internet).

You could re-use a production license in the case the lab gw is not connected to the internet. A 1 Year Lab license can be officially requested from CP by partners and CCSPs. Or you use a 30 day eval and switch back time when it ends 😎

I will reach out to CP. I thought they got rid of the lab licenses.

Pretty sure -DEMO SKUs are still a thing (what Guenther refers to above).

Not aware of any specific restrictions on requesting evaluation licenses other than having to do it every 30 days or so.
