SMB 1800 - Log Retention Period

Hello Support

How or where can I change the Period of which log is being saved on the 1800 Appliance? as l need logs deleted on monthly basis for better performance.

Assistance will be appreciated.

I assume you’re talking about a locally managed appliance?
As far as I know, log retention is based on available storage space and there isn’t a way to tune it.
Why do you think purging off logs will improve performance?

There is a very simple way to achieve that: Define a cron job that issues a reboot ! Use /var/spool/cron/crontabs/root and add a new line there like:

0 0 1 * 0 shutdown -r -t secs 10080 time now&

This example will reboot every first day of the month at 0 hour and - as a side effect - clear the logs on the SMB 😎
