R81.10.15 to R81.10.17 upgrade on 1595 cluster

Hi all

I need to upgrade a number of Quantum Spark 1595 clusters from R81.10.15 to R81.10.17. I would like to know how everyone gets on with the automated upgrade through the Smart Console, in terms of its reliability. This is the recommended method, according to the upgrade guide, but it seems a bit risky to me, particularly if the cluster is in a remote location, since we don't have the luxury of keeping one appliance on the older version as a fallback, while testing the upgraded one.

What is everyone's experience with the automated method? Have you found it reliable or do most people prefer to retain a bit more control by using a manual method?

Personally, and this is just me, if device is at remote location, where someone cant get to it quick enough if something goes wrong, I always like to stick with web UI method in such scenario. Yes, smart console method works as well, but I do find it bit more risky in case you described.

Regardless, if I were you, I would 100% have someone on site. Better be safe than sorry.

Hope all goes well!

Best,
Andy
