Gateway Server nmi watchdog: BUG

Hi All,

I have encountered with a Checkpoint firewall installed in a virtual machine. Yesterday the firewall suddenly stopped working, and when I attempted to restart it, the following message was displayed:  

"Starting the system

nmi watchdog bug soft lockup"

What is the GW and Management Version ? How is the current status, did it freeze after the nmi watchdog errors?

Which version are you running? What are the VM parameters?

Articles @G_W_Albrecht gave are good reference. I had seen this in my lab few times, just took bit longer to reboot, but after I gave it more RAM, never came up again.

Last time I saw this issue/error was back on R80.30 which is no longer supported...

I see it in any version really in the lab, but again, thats my own fault, no one else to blame : - ). Once I add more RAM, no issues.

Both SKs that mention this are for R77.20 resp. 30.

@G_W_Albrecht It is standalone and it is r80.10 version. Currently It keeps displaying the attached error message.

How much memory / resources is allocated to the virtual machine?

Please also consider upgrading to a supported version.

R80.10 is unsupported since January 2022...
