Maestro Madness
Hello All,
We are planning to upgrade from R80.40 to R81.20 and have many Security Gateway appliances along with few Management VMs. We are not sure and would like to know whether any private patch was provided by CP TAC for some issue and was installed in any of these Gateways or Management VMs in the past. Before we proceed with R81.20 upgrade, is "cpinfo -y all" command sufficient to provide these details or is there a better way to get this detail from all Gateways and Management VMs?
Please guide.
K
It would be much easier to answer based on a specific output.
In general, you should see a bunch of entries, per product, looking sonething like that:
HOTFIX_<YOUR MAJOR VERSION>
HOTFIX_<YOUR MAJOR VERSION>_JUMBO_HF Take: <MINOR VERSION>
For example,
HOTFIX_R81_10
HOTFIX_R81_10_JUMBO_HF Take: 121
If you see a longer non-honsistent name, that is most probably a private fix. You can always consult with TAC via a SR, if you are not sure.
cpinfo-y all covers your needs perfectly
Hello Val,
Thank you for your prompt response to my inquiry.
Could you provide additional guidance on identifying distinctions between a Private and General hotfix/patch in the output generated by the "cpinfo -y all" command? Any specific details or information that could facilitate differentiation and understanding would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
K

New DA GUI will now show easily if any custom fix is installed
Can we assume all the installation under "Hotfix Updates" are custom fix?
Most probably not. Show us what you see for a better answer
