Activation of application controls

Hello,

I would like to know if the application controls require a license to activate it?

Yes, Application Control requires a license.
More precisely, it requires a contract (NGFW, NGTP, or NGTX).

Can it be one of those contracts you mentioned or does it have to be all of them? or depending on which contracts I choose?

This  5100 appliance is without a support contract, so you will have to buy support and the services you need - I see no URLF, AV, ABOT nor IPS here...

All of the mentioned contracts include App Control.
NGFW is the cheapest of the three and includes IPS.
For URL Filtering, you will need to buy NGTP or NGTX.

Will there be a trial license for 30 or 15 days for a 5000 Appliance?

So what you mean is a license that is installed separately?

Pretty much everything CP related requires license : - )

Are you simply wondering if license is needed for app control or do you have an actual technical issue once blade is activated?
