Is there compatible 10G Ethernet SFP card for the PB-20/5200 Appliance?
I realize that it can't handle full throughput of 10G, but would eventually like to use it as part of a 10G network and obviously don't want the nearest switch to scale everything down to 1G.
Thanks for the help!
There aren't any compatible RJ45 SFPs for the 5600 that provide 10G.
This is a difference/benefit of the new gateways in the Quantum series e.g. 6000
In the 5000 series, only the 5600 and above have a supported 10Gb option unfortunately.
Fair enough. Do you happen to know the part number for the 5600?
When I check the spec doc, it only lists fiber 10G cards far as I can tell (no RJ45 options):
https://www.checkpoint.com/downloads/products/5600-security-gateway-datasheet.pdf
For usage with a 5600 it's a "CPAC-4-10F-B"
Correct there isn't an RJ45 10G option available for the 2016 appliance series.

Thanks for the link!
Looking at this sheet:
https://www.checkpoint.com/downloads/products/5800-security-gateway-datasheet.pdf
It looks like the 5800 had such a card with the HPP addon?
"Inclusive High Performance Package
Purchase the affordable High
Performance Package (HPP) and get a
base system plus one 2x 10Gb SFP+
interface card, transceivers, redundant
AC or DC power supplies and 16 GB of
memory for high connection capacity."
PDF has a picture of a 10G dual ethernet.
The 5600 pdf also has that photo, but the text says 4 x 1G
https://www.checkpoint.com/downloads/products/5600-security-gateway-datasheet.pdf
There's no standalone part for that either?
----
Maybe broader question is there actually a 10G ethernet card for any model?
I see photos and mentions of such a thing existing different places, but no part.
I provided the part number for 5600 and above earlier, here it is again: CPAC-4-10F-B. It's also listed on the 5600 datasheet.
2016 appliances & accessories have reached End of Sale status and stock will be extremely limited if any as a result.
Thanks for the reply. I saw you listed - CPAC-4-10F-B, but I thought that was fiber?
Or are you suggesting using that with an optical converter?
The only option is fibre for those regardless if it's a 2 or 4 port 10G card.
Apologies your previous reply was unclear with the ethernet reference.
No worries - I appreciate the clarity!!!
One last question - are those SFP modules swappable for ethernet ones?
Or are they soldered in?
Or just the hardware won't recognize it?
There aren't any compatible RJ45 SFPs for the 5600 that provide 10G.

Hi @IWishIKnewMore,
If you have only the Firewall Blade enabled and multi queueing is enabled, you should reach 6-7 GBit throughput with 2 SND cores.
That was more/less my thinking - as long as it wasn't be used an edge device, it would be good enough for a downstream usage.
But without the a way to include a 10G card it's kind of a wash.
At most it would be teaming 2 ports to two 2 nics and get 2GB for a limited device set.
That's much different setup them just running QOS rules and letting the throughput fall where it does for each 10G device.
