End Of Support around the corner (May 2021)
Dear checkpoint colleagues, I have an important customer who bought a 44000 chassis and questions me a few things about the product. What happens when the 1-year license expires on the delivered products (Gateway and Management)? so I know the services like ips av ab back to a certain date when ?! Technical specifications of the 44000 (CPU, HD, RAM ...) and estimate of attendance according to this configuration? Disc failure tolerance?
Product information is here High Performance, Scalable Platforms | Check Point Software
That's regarding performance. What exactly did you want to get out of CPU/MEM/HDD figures? I can get 41k if it really matters so 44k will be step up
As for licenses, you just buy support for another year or more. All depends on what you want.
What happens when software blades expire depends on the blade, but it will generally stop enforcing security decisions based on that blade, possibly with some grace period.
IPS has a specific SK about it: IPS Software Blade contracts
when the 1-year license expires on Gateway and Management, all service (NGTP et all) blades will cease to work (except very basic IPS). FW and VPN usually have a permanent license (see cplic print output) and will work on as expected - but remember, without a valid support contract (that may be over sfter one year, too) you are no longer entitled to download fixes, updates or newer versions.
