Is there a way to disable URL all together but just keep APP Control on? Only require APP control for reporting of web browsing apps not using it to block or control bandwidth consumption?

They use the exact same engine with the difference being what database/signatures are used.
On SMB appliances they are both controlled by a single checkbox.
What is the goal you are hoping to achieve by disabling URL Filtering?

Thanks, for now, avoiding core files or system crashes.   I have yet to see this product to be stable with blades enabled.  So testing for now with IPS/Bot only and results are good thus far.  Disabled, antivirus, APP/URL, furthermore for my application, URL filtering is not a concern.

I've provided every Core files known to exist and always response from R&D is unknown or no indication of root cause??

I would suggest to install R77.20.87 (990173004) - this version works very good for me...

same here for the most part still producing core file during GUI login after FW uptime longer than 40 days.   Plus this build has CVE issues buffer overflow.   For now just running IPS/antibot.  Fine for now no use for APP or URL on this GW.   

Do you use the anti-virus blade?  if so, does it scan all http/https inbound and imaps web mail?

Version still producing core file during GUI login after FW uptime longer than 40 days - my rule of thumb is to reboot the GW every 14 days. AV will scan according to its settings...
