Maestro Madness
I was trying to setup my 1590 with R82.20.10 to use reverse telnet to connect to a console of a connected switch, only to find that in the Web-UI the option is no longer there (it was in 1450 with R77.20) and on the command line when you try to use the command for it, this error shows:
set serial-port mode console passive-mode
Could not set serial-port mode: Value is not valid
passive-mode - Allow connection from a remote telnet server to a device connected to the serial port
Will this functionality come back or not?
It looks like the syntax is different in the R80.x code, but believe it's still there: https://sc1.checkpoint.com/documents/SMB_R80.20.02/CLI/Content/Topics/170636.htm?Highlight=passive-m...
Irrelevant which additional options you add, the error remains the same. The option for Passive mode is gone completely from the WebUI, where it was before in the advanced settings.
It may only be relevant to the 1570R with the physical DB9/RS232 connector but will confirm.
It was enabled on all 1400 models and as Gunther says below it was also available in the previous R80.20 versions...
Using a Roll-Over cable to the switch will allow access to the console when all networking has failed, or the switch has failed...
That is not only relevant when using the 1570R version.
Looks it was present in R80.20.0x still - missing since (at least) R80.20.10 are the Advanced Settings:

| Serial port - Mode |
