SMP cloud backup
Was anyone able to get the new cloud backup feature working in Spark Management ?
My 1570 gateways running R81.10.08_996001608 do not seem to care a bit about this setting.

Hi @nmelay
A fix has been deployed yesterday.
The fix will prevent it to affect new gateways and plans, in order to fix it backwards, you simply need to run save on the relevant gateway / plan.
We are also working on a solution that will fix any impacted gateways and plans backwards, but until then, use the WA mentioned above to start using the feature.

Not locked to plan - so it will not work...

?
I unlocked it from plan to be able to use specific settings for this specific gateway.
How is that related to this issue ?
FWIW, cloud backup did not work when locked to plan either.

Is it enabled in the plan ? Is Services > Managed Services > Backup checked ?

Yes it is.
Did you manage to get cloud backup working? This was my question actually...

Hi @nmelay
This feature should work from either plan / gateway level.
The fact that it isn't is a bug, we see it and working on a solution.
The issue is with saving the backup configuration for Cloud for new gateways, gateways that already got this setting are not impacted.
I will update this thread once the fix is ready in production.
Thanks for letting us know.

Hello @yahavb,
OK, thanks for this information.
I've actually been trying to get it working for a few weeks already.
If the breakage really lasted for so long, I guess the feature did not guess enough exposure yet!
As far as I'm concerned, it's a very welcome addition for the SMP feature set, and I'm really looking forward to using it.

We see the commit that caused this degradation since 1.10, you are correct that this bug exists for few weeks now. We will investigate internally how to improve the process for finding and resolving similar issues in the future.
I can assume that the reason we did not encounter it sooner is because it only impacts new gateways and not the existing configuration.
This is actually a very successful feature with high adoption rates, since introduced earlier this year, thousands of gateways have already configured it.
Not sure that you are familiar with it, but there is a feedback button at the top toolbar that will allow you to share feedback directly with RnD and report such issues, or share your general feedback on the application.
On another topic, I invite you to participate in R81.10.10 EA program, as it contains many new enhancements for Spark Management (SMP). Fill this survey to join if you have not done it yet: EA survey
Thanks again for your feedback.

Answered in private, but adding it here as well.
Spark Management Cloud backup feature is supported only for Appliances running R81.10.05 and above.
The supported version is shown as a tooltip for each of the selected backup protocol / method.
Thanks.

Well, that's good to know.
This should certainly be made more obvious!
