R82 Upgrade from SmartConsole R82 for Quantum Spark 1600s and 1500s...

Hello fellow Chekmates!

I hope all are doing well.  I have spent several hours trying to figure this out, so I figured I run it by you guys!

I have upgraded my on-premise management server to R82 (easily done).  and of course it requires SmartConsole R82 version as well.  Prior to this SmartConsole (R82) update, I was able to upload an .img file (upgrade or jumbo files) and push it out to my firewalls by using the Version Upgrade... OR the Install Hotfix/Jumbo... Actions menu options.

The Problem I have now, is that the SmartControl R82 ONLY gives me the uption to upload a .Tar or a .tgz files.  I can no longer upload .img files to push out the upgrades to my 1600s & 1500s firewalls.  (I have 10 of them)

I tried uploading to the Package Repository the Check_Point_R82_T777_Gaia_Install_and_Upgrade.tar & the blink_image_1.1_Check_Point_R82_T777_JHF_T34_SecurityGateway.tgz files, and they upload sucessfully, but it's not available to push it to appliances as I usualy do as above via the Version Upgrade/Install Hotfix/Jumbo option.  All my firewalls are on R81.10

is there a .tar or .tgz verison of the R82 that is supported to delpoy thru the SmartConsole?

or

is there a way to still upload the .img files in to the package repository for SmartConsole R82?

and

How do I find the latest version of the R82 image for the 1500 & 1600 appliance? I

found some here but are dated back to late 2024. (links here in case someone else needs it): 1500 Image:  https://support.checkpoint.com/results/download/135816  & 1600 image:  https://support.checkpoint.com/results/download/135913

i'm trying to avoid having to do these upgrades manually via the Gaia portal for each applaiance (specially the Cluster of 2 firewalls I have at the main office).  also, I would prefer not have to setup any other update tool to perform this.

Thanks in adavance for all you support!

1500 & 1600 series gateways do not yet support R82.00.00. Are you enrolled in the EA program?

As at the time of writing the latest GA image is R81.10.17.

For Spark gateways R82.00.00 is currently only supported for the newley released 2500 series per:

Thanks!  @Chris_Atkinson, I found out the hard way by flashing it to a 1535 and it didn't boot. 🙂  but since these Gaia embeded devices revert back to the original image if it fails to boot (after you power cycle it manually), it all returned back to normal.  I do like that feature. 🙂
