CheckMates Go:
Maestro Madness
Hello,
We have an issue with R81.10.08 where OSPF configuration that we've added to advertise interfaces are not included in the "show configuration".
How do we make sure that all config is included, or what information besides "show configuration" is needed in case we need to restore a gateway?
Example config not included:
set ospf area 1.1.30.1 on
set ospf area 1.1.30.1 nssa
set ospf interface WAN area 1.1.30.1 on
set ospf interface LAN1 area 1.1.30.1 on
set ospf interface LAN1.230 area 1.1.30.1 on
set ospf interface LAN1.231 area 1.1.30.1 on
set ospf interface LAN1.232 area 1.1.30.1 on
set ospf interface LAN1.240 area 1.1.30.1 on
set ospf interface LAN1.304 area 1.1.30.1 on
set ospf interface LAN1.860 area 1.1.30.1 on
set ospf interface LAN1.861 area 1.1.30.1 on
set ospf interface LAN1.902 area 1.1.30.1 on
I would suggest to use a backup file instead of show configuration (that has a couple of known shortcomings).
Silly question, but if you did it through clish, did you do save config?
Best,
Andy
save config on Spark?
From clish, right. Like below on the regular gateway.
Andy
[Expert@CP-STANDALONE:0]# clish
CP-STANDALONE> set clienv on-failure stop
CP-STANDALONE> save config
CP-STANDALONE> exit
[Expert@CP-STANDALONE:0]#
fwsb01> save
Bad parameter starting at 'save'
fwsb01>
Definitely not available on smb, my bad mate, sorry about that. Btw, what do you see in web UI as per below?
Andy
Never mind, layer 8 issue on my end lol. I rarely work with SMB, but save config is not even available, so definitely not needed. If you run show configuration, do you see it there?
Andy
Since this is really buggine me, I spun up demo point lab quickly for SMB, ran commands you sent, except I can only do LAN1 interface, which is fine and once I did it, I see below for ospf. Btw, 2nd command should be set ospf asrea 1.1.30.1 nssa on

Sure, we do see the OSPF config through that command.
And the configuration is available when you run "show router-configuration".
But it's not included in "show configuration"
I totally get what you mean now @Mikael . Here is what I did in that demo lab. I ran from expert -> clish -c "show configuration" > /config.txt
Then, I ran grep -i "ospf" config.txt and did not give me what I expected.
Maybe its by default, not sure...
Andy
[Expert@Gateway-ID-29322439]# grep -i "ospf" /config.txt
