Feature request for 1550: notification for standalone units
This type of unit is often in isolated sites and cannot be connected to a Manager system.
It would be very useful if the system and the security rules marked as "Alert" could send notifications directly from the device (via email or SNMP) so that we can supervise special events (vpn access, intrusion alerts, etc).

RFE is best raised as follows:
1. Raise the RFE in the CP RFE form here: https://usercenter.checkpoint.com/ucapps/rfe/
2. Note the reference number you will receive
3. Talk to your local SE about the customers need for the feature and give him the reference number

You get notifications pushed right to your phone.
I don't know that we have "alerts" for specific access control rules but it does send alerts for specific threat prevention events (among other things).

I neever liked the idea of management tools outside the secure environment. So I am not fond of the idea of having any coneection from the outside in a potencially vulnerable environment such as a mobile phone. Maybe I am wrong in my perception.
I think an smtp daemon is cheap enough to add to a future version and be able to get log-level alerts for the traffic we want to be alerted about.

In any case what you're asking for is most definitely an RFE.

I second this idea and also think it is nice to have on locally managed SMBs.

There's email notification capability via SMP (assuming the gateway is connected to SMP)
Are you aware?

Thanks Amir.
For our size SMP does not seem justified. And, as said before, we like to keep each site as standalone as possible.

Why not just use a larger CP appliance which has that feature(s) already ?

Feature requests should be raised formally with your local CP office (SE) as RFEs.
