Diff between 1535/1550 models ?

Hello,

I'm posting this because recently, the company I work for ordered three clusters of model 1535. However, during the configuration, we noticed by running the "show software version"  command that two of the three clusters appear to be model 1550: "This is Check Point's 1550 Appliance R81.10.10 - Build 945".

In our online contracts, the MAC addresses are correctly listed as model 1535. We then checked the label on the devices, which indicates "Model: V-80".

However, after reviewing the started guides for models 1535 and 1550, it seems that both can be labeled "V-80".

https://sc1.checkpoint.com/documents/Appliances/GSG_V0_WiFi6/EN/CP_1535_1555_GettingStartedGuide.pdf (page54)

How can we differentiate between them ? And be certain whether or not there was an error in the order?

Thank you in advance for your help.

1550 is older HW and only has 2GB RAM instead of 4GB in 1535, same CPU but 4 cores instead of 3 on 1535 - see https://community.checkpoint.com/t5/SMB-Gateways-Spark/History-of-SMB-Specs-and-Performance/m-p/1740...

Price of 1550 is still higher than that of 1535..

That is strange, the 1535 series is released mar-2023 and the 1550 is released oct-2019

I would expect at least the 1555 appliance that is released mar-2023

1535 ->

1550 ->

Looks like 1550 has more power, but is older hardware.

1535 EOL = not known at this moment

1550 EOL = Jan 2023

Possibly a cosmetic issue.

Does the mac-address and device label match with those located in your usercenter /  product center view?

Hello Chris,

Thanks you for your reply

When I search by MAC Address in the Product Center, all are labeled as 1535, and the SKU used is a CPAP-SG1535 one as well.

However, I don't know if this information is derived from the MAC address or if it's manually entered, in which case it would just correspond to the license we purchased.

I do have 4GB RAM on the appliance, I supose the "show software version"  (that is showing 1550) is wrong then.

Maybe it will update after upgrade or applying the licence.

Good, so it can not be a 1550 😉 Upgrade the firmware to R81.10.10 Build 996002993.
