1400 Series Script to check and report management server connection lost

Does anyone know if there is a way to run a script to show if the management server is reachable? too many times we have been burnt on the management server not being reachable for more than 24 hours and then the Soho having to tear down its VPN because of it.

You can do this via SNMP if management and log server are on the same host.

OID .1.3.6.1.4.1.2620.1.1.30.1.0 reports if there is a connection to log server. Any value <> 0 means there is no connection or management server is down for some reason.

Or you can just run # fw fetch from SMS:

#$CPDIR/bin/cprid_util -server <IP of SMB appliance> -verbose rexec -rcmd /bin/clish -c "fw fetch"
