Windows 11 24H2. Add new site

Hello.

I got windows 11 24H2 and download this VPN. When I want to add new site (Check Point Endpoint Security):

New -> Next -> add Server address or Name -> click button Next

And after that nothing happens, no errors, just no progress. I tried exactly the same actions on a laptop with Windows 10, everything works there

When adding a new site, you need to type in an IP address of an FQDN name of the VPN GW.

Technically, if you enter something bogus, and click next, you would see this.

Even if I click Connect, nothing happens. I select VPN Options, click New. I write any information and click Next, but nothing happens at all and the window on your screenshot does not appear. Although on Windows 10 everything is fine.

I watched your video by the way and though Im not sure what version this is, I just tested on my personal desktop at home on win 11 24H2 with E88.60 and worked just fine.

In general, there is an issue with Windows 11 24H2 and Remote Access clients.
See: https://support.checkpoint.com/results/sk/sk182749
I don't believe this will resolve your issue, but it is something you will likely encounter even when you move past this issue.

Meanwhile, let's ask some very basic questions:

  • What hardware are you using?
  • What precise client version are you using? Do not say "latest" but provide the version (e.g. E88.70).

E86.80 does not support Win 11 24H2.
E88.61 is the most recent for Windows and can be downloaded from here: https://support.checkpoint.com/results/download/132101

And in principle, is it planned to be possible to support the version? Since it really doesn't want to work on Asus, and I don't want to disable the basic functionality of the laptop

If you're having incompatibilities with a specific laptop provider, these will need to be addressed through the TAC.
The ticket will need to be opened by someone who is an authorized support contact.

Thanks for the link - although it also only has 88.60 Remote Access VPN.

We are still seeing issues connecting on Win11 24H2 using 88.60

E88.61 is a hotfix for E88.60, as clearly stated in the title of the article.

Are you experiencing issues after trying it? Or did you decide not to try it because the file name says E88.60?

It's a hotfix, but only for Endpoint Security and not for Remote Access VPN. Yes, I've downloaded it from that exact link - same issue persists. The only thing that helps at the moment is to modify trac.defaults which is I believe explained in sk182749 - Remote Access VPN users with Windows 11 24H2 fail to connect to VPN Gateway (which for some reason is not public anymore and I can't the solution, only the overview) which also explicitly states that the issue still exists in 88.61!

This is only a hotfix and as it stands 24H2 seems to not be officially supported, even though CheckPoint said that after 2 months of GA, it will be supported. GA was Oct 1st,.

Sadly (or luckily - depends) we are not directly CheckPoint customer, but our MSP is, and they told us CheckPoint have not yet provided a real fix that's not just a bandaid (sk182749)

EDIT: also see the ongoing discussion here: Solved: Windows 11 24H2 Remote Access VPN - Check Point CheckMates

As per your colleague @PhoneBoy :

In any case, we release new Endpoint/VPN clients every month or so.
The next release (E88.70 for Windows) is expected in the next couple of weeks and is expected to include a fix for this.

Clearly acknowledging that this is still an issue with 88.60. That comment was over a month ago by now

The fix for making it work in 24H2 can also be applied on the gateway side (scenario 1 in sk182749) so it does not need to be deployed to all the clients manually.

It's taken a bit longer to get E88.70 out the door than expected.
I don't know the precise reason for that.

Hi

I have the same issue but in my case I have Mobile Access.

Do you know any solution for this problem?

Regards.
