The SandBlast Mobile Protect app for Android scans SMS messages containing URLs, and will alert the user if SMS messages contain malicious URLs.
The user is instructed to delete the SMS message which contains the malicious URL.
To enable SMS phishing protection, navigate to Settings > Privacy Settings, and turn the "Enable SMS read" toggle to ON.
How does it work?
When the device receives a new SMS text message the message is analyzed by the Protect app.
If the message includes a URL, ONLY the URL is sent for inspection in the Check Point Threat Cloud service.
If the URL is found to be malicious, the user will be alerted via an in-app notification in SandBlast Mobile Protect.
