not able to generate system backup and not able to install hotfix( Internal error in a hook scrip)

Hi,

Posting this so that others time will be saved.

 

Environment: MGMT server on VM, R81.10 take 66

We were facing issue issue to take system backup, with the error : mandatory pre-backup script failed.

- cpstop;cpstart din't help.

sk111794,  line local template1 all password it was there already.

- so we tried installing hotfix take 81, unfortunatly that also got stuck with  Internal error in a hook script: (Return Code: 42).

- No corrupt files in hkml_registry.

- tried rebooting the device, which dint help.

 

Solution: sk123366, resolved both issues.

So disabling EPM resolved the issue ? sk123366 is limited to R80.10 (EOL), R80.20 (EOL) so it should not apply...

Yes, i was also thinking same, But it did resolve the issue.

Previously we had similar issue on hotfix installation for other customer(R81.10) for which SR has been raised and engineer asked us to perform sk123366, which resolved the issue.
