log files disappear in smartconsole after deleting old folders on the log server

log files disappear in smartconsole after deleting old folders on the log server CPsuite-R80.30, CPSmartLog-R80.30, CPrt-R80.30, CPcvpn-R80.30, CPshrd-R80.30. The log server runs on version R80.40.
Does the fact that the gateways work on version 80.30 affect?
How can we free up space on the log server?

Usually, log retention settings control the log availability - for indexed as well as unindexed logs. So the first action would be to shorten indexed logs availability time.

1. Best way to free up space in the log server is to set the log maintenance values.

You can increase the amount/percentage of free space from the object in SmartConsole under Logs -> Storage -> When disk space is below X MBytes, start deleting old files.

You can also add daily retention to start deleting logs/indexes after X days.

2. If you deleted the old directories you might have deleted some old logs + log indexes so this might be unavailable.

Kind regards, Amir Senn
