cpstop/cpstart on cluster R77.30 with VSX
Hi,
I have a cluster with two 21400 with R77.30 and VSX.
In order to fix a problem I have to make a cpstop, do something not relevant and then cpstart, I am worried about how the cpstop impact on cluster and VSX and I am looking for a procedure.
1) On standby unit give cpstop - How it impact on VSX interface ? It is possible a split brain or active/active ? Other considerations? Some more details about what's happen ?
2) On standby unit give cpstart
3) failover the cluster
4) repeat on new standby unit
Checkpoint support said there is impact, but I have to understand in details what kind of impact and why.
Any help?
thanks

If you are using VSX in HA mode, there is an impact of failover (1-2 seconds or less of lagged traffic) on step 3. No impact when performing cpstop on standby.
If you are using VSLS, there will be some traffic lags on step 1 and 3
