Hi

I advice you to go over the Administration guide for the version you installed. Also you can find excellent help here:

Check Point for Beginners 2.0

Regarding your issue, a few questions:

1) Which version are you running?

2) Is there connectivity between the Windows machine (running SmartConsole) and the Gaia machine (running Security Management Server)?

3) Did you check all processes are running properly on the Security Management Server (cpwd_admin list)

4) Have you defined GUI Client properly?

Hi and thanks for answer me , all are right expect the API service , "API start" giving me an error

"warning waiting for file mgmt_api_profile_settings.xml to be created"

There is connection between the machines, after downloading smart console no ping from win10 to the Gaya Linux

I will glad to get help from you , It's nice to see there are our brains around here

I’m assuming you installed this in a VM.
What precise disk/CPU/memory resources did you allocate to it?

Is this your first attempt or did you do other installations successfully already ? Did you install GW and SMS on different VMs or as a StandAlone deployment ?  The behaviour sounds like you did connect the Dashboard to a GW...

This is not my first attempt , I already worked with Gaya and checkpoint for 2 month ,I have 1 machine (gaya) , the other is Win10 with smart console there.

From network perspective , only 1 adapter for both (vmnet0), one more adapter for bridge in the Gaya machine ,

Thanks by head

Better contact TAC to resolve this ! In RAS i could just take some minutes, while we might discuss it here for long without finding a solution.

Hello all,

I've installed CP R81 on a Hyper-V Windows 10:

FW01> show version all
Product version Check Point Gaia R81
OS build 392
OS kernel version 3.10.0-957.21.3cpx86_64
OS edition 64-bit

then I wasn't able to connect to the smart console. cpwd_admin list had showed me that many services are not running and I could not get them to start. What I did? I've reinstalled the system and it did help:

fw-01> show version all
Product version Check Point Gaia R81
OS build 392
OS kernel version 3.10.0-957.21.3cpx86_64
OS edition 64-bit

Do you see the difference? 😉 unbelievably, but maybe it will help someone

Why R81 and not R81.10 or R81.20?
Also what are the specs for RAM/HDD/processors you've allocated to the VM?

I only found the download link for R81.

8GB RAM

128 GB HDD

8 vCPU

Was this installed as a Management / Gateway or Standalone deployment?
