SmartEvent - deleting of archived pdf reports
Hello,
Customer has R80.30 management server (JHA Take 111) and there are about ten pdf SmartEvent reports scheduled and sent via email everyday. Right now, there are more than 2000 pdf reports stored on management server. I want to delete the old reports, but I'm able to delete only one by one in SmartConsole, so to delete all reports it would take a lot of time. Is is possible to delete multiple stored pdf SmartEvent reports?
Thank you

Hi Tomas,
Currently we do not have this capability in the UI.
We will certainly add it to our backlog.
I can offer you a workaround in case the customer is interested in deleting all the archive entries.
- Backup the following folders
- $RTDIR/smartview/exported_files
This folder contains all the exported documents - $RTDIR/smartview/db
This folder contains the archive history for each user
- $RTDIR/smartview/exported_files
- $RTDIR/scripts/stopSmartView
- rm -r $RTDIR/smartview/exported_files
- find $RTDIR/smartview/db -name archive.xml | xargs rm
- $RTDIR/scripts/startSmartView
Let me know if this workaround is acceptable and if it works as expected.
Thanks,

Hello Nadav,
as I understand it correctly, your steps should be used for deleting all pdf reports, right? But I don't want to delete everything, I'd like to delete just some pfd repots, which are older than three months for example.

Hi Tomas,
The procedure will delete the entire archive DB as you understood.
Currently we do not have the capability you require.
We will include it in a future version but I do not have an ETA yet.
You can open an RFE.
Thanks,
Nadav

The capability of multi-selection was added in R81 version, I recommend to upgrade and enjoy it.
