Assuming the network path between your SmartConsole system and the R80 SMS is stable and unimpeded, in pre-R80 releases one would look for a restart of the SMS's fwm process which services the GUI network connections. While fwm still exists in the R80 Mgmt release, it seems to only be servicing certain older GUI clients such as SmartUpdate.
In R80 Mgmt it appears that the main SmartConsole connections are being serviced by a java process listening on port 19009. To see if this process has undergone a restart, run "cpwd_admin list" and look at the CPM (Check Point Management) and FWM lines of the output:
CPM | 356 | E | 2 | [07:47:15] 15/3/2016 N | /opt/CPsuite-R80/fw1/scripts/cpm.sh -s |
FWM | 361 | E | 2 | [07:47:15] 15/3/2016 N | fwm |
Does the start time for these processes closely match all the other monitored processes? Or does it look like one or both of these processes got restarted by cpwd?
