Hi all,
What is the recommended size of the root partition for R82 manager? I see disk space What's New in the release notes. 40 GB for root now? What are other people using? Also, can you download the iso somewhere or just the blink tgz files now?
For clean install you might want to use the Blink package that includes the latest JHF:

I found this but it doesn't seem like the latest. Check Point R82 Gaia Clean Install - ISO
R82.10 iso?
For clean install you might want to use the Blink package that includes the latest JHF:

Yeah, it just seemed like that iso from October of 2024 was old, but yeah that it.
R82.10 is not yet available for Management unless you are registered & participating in the EA program.
Is TAC the best place to report a bug with R82?
Yes. Can you share the details here?
possible R82 JHF34 bug.
I didn't notice this in R82, just after installing JHF34.
If you go to web ui system backups (by snapshots) you can still make a backup and see the backup. However, I use this to also import/export files from gaia here. If you create a file 'touch down' then save it as down.tgz you'll notice can import the file, but not see it in the web ui. So, it's there but you can't see it. How do you know it's there? try it again and it will tell you. I'm trying to export my error logs from a failed r82 import and I see they are all in /var/log/CPbackup/backups in gaia on the command line. NOTHING shows up in web ui - system backup NOT even a file I had there before the upgrade to JHF34.
Have you tried using JHFA36, I know it just been released but there seem be a number of fixes in there.
Using JHF36 didn't fix it. 😞
Probably using the backup mechanism in this way isn't considered a bug and rather an RFE.
I can import tgz files, they just aren't showing up(they aren't visible in the webui) like they have been for the last 20 years. They are visible on the command line in /var/log/CPbackup/backups. The issue is that the tgz files in /var/log/CPbackup/backups aren't showing up in the web ui, so you just can't export.
Understood but this doesn't make it a bug, the use case of the UI is backups not a general file manager.
If it doesn't work for importing/exporting backups please report it to TAC.
