I think there is something that is not up-to-date in R81 documentation in term of R81 Management Servers can manage appliance Security Gateways.

I can confirm here that the R81 cannot manage the appliance running version R76SP50.

please correct the documentation. i have tried on the 44K appliances and we can not push the policies, it is  incompatible.

R76SP50 is supported until Apr 2021 only 😎

The oldest gateways manageable from R81 is R77.20.x (SMB) and R77.30 (maintrain).

I would assume that the only important version here is R80.20SP. R81 supports SMB, and R76SP.50 should be history soon. But changing the Release Notes would of course be appropriate.
