R81.10 SmartEvent Hardware migration
Hi,
I'm planning to migrate a dedicated R81.10 SmartEvent Server to a new hardware running the same R81.10. My plan is to use Advanced Upgrade: ./migrate_server export -v R81.10 -skip_upgrade_ tools_check [-l | -x] /<Full path>/<name of exported file>
But sk110173 mentioned that "The SmartEvent database is not migrated during an advanced upgrade." and recommend using $RTDIR/bin/eva_db_backup.csh
Is Advanced Upgrade method enough for this R81.10 migration or is sk110173 procedure still required?
Thanks,

Last time I did this, yes, we had to follow the sk you mentioned and TAC also verified the same.
Best,
Andy

SmartEvent indexes are not included in the migration tools output.
Those must either be rebuilt (as a result of copying the old logs and reindexing them) OR backed up using the tool mentioned in sk110173.

If ./migrate_server export -l is used, wouldn't it copy the old logs?

Logs, yes, SmartEvent indexes, no.
Note unless you have a very small number of logs, it is recommended to move the logs separately.
