R80.20: configuring 64-Bit virtual system support + vs_bits

Dears CheckMates,

We're building a VSX/VSLS cluster (R80.20 GA). We are not able to execute the vs_bits command.

Is there a reason why vs_bits didn't make it in R80.20 (although it is mentioned in the documentation)?

Many thanks.

Kind regards,

Kris Pellens

If I had to guess, it's because VSes in R80.20 and above are always 64-bit (i.e. 32bit VS is not possible in R80.20+).

Thanks Dameon.

Then Check Point has to update the R80.20 VSX admin guide.

It could very well be that the command should be there, if for no other reason than to say "Your VS is already 64 bits" or "You can't change it to 32 bits." Smiley Happy

In any case, you can submit feedback directly to the TechPubs team by clicking on the "Send Feedback" in the relevant document.

Just check how much virtual memory has been allocated to a VS with fw ctl pstat - if it's over 4GB then it's 64bit kernel Smiley Happy
