R80.10: AV blade and file types

The combination on content awareness and AV can check for any file type listed in the content awareness drop down. My questions is, does the AV blade only check for file extension and block it (if the policy is set that way) ? OR Does it also check for the mime type ?

It should use the files "magic number" because both extensions and MIME types can be spoofed.
