No logs displayed in Logs & Monitor tab

Hi,

We migrated our MDSM running a single CMA from R77.30 to R80. When we go to Logs & Monitor we cannot see any logs and get a message displayed at the top:

When clicking on 'Click here for details' we get the below.

Also, see below for the status of the log server and indexer

[Expert@lab-mdsm:0]# cpstat mg -f log_server

Anyone come across similar issue and any pointers on how to resolve this?

Hi,

I've seen this on MDM R80 from migrated R77.30 CMA with a long history of upgrades/migrates.

Mine even pointed to a removed MLM (Multi-domain Log Server) that I removed and updated.

I started to see logs again after standing up a Multi-Domain level SmartEvent.

The CMA in question had a local SmartEvent host a while back that is removed, has also changed IP address (way back R70 timeframe).

Based on my immediate needs to have working lab/home environment, I dropped MDM approach for this Domain and moved it to SMS, then had to clean-up MDM references via GuiDBEdit, which enabled the capability to use SmartEvent locally again (grayed before that scrub).  This is now working for logging locally, but occasionally there is a funny reference issue with the first IP address of the then SMS on R70.

I recommend opening a support ticket on this issue for assistance if this is a production environment (mine is lab/home) as there may be some migration wonkiness and leftover data that should not be.
