Moving between snapshots
Hi,
i was wondering the following.
I have a ha clustered vsx environment, running R81.10 take 110.
We upgraded to take 110 a few months ago from take 68.
Before the upgrade to take 110, i took snapshots.
Okay, i'm pretty sure we can restore a snapshot on one node and return to take 68.
But what i'm wondering, what if i take a new snapshot now, call it take 110. Can i then :
1. restore snapshot of take 68, run and test something for a few days
2. when running on take 68, restore snapshot of take 110, run
I'm not sure if the snapshot of take 110 will still be there if i restored the one of take 68...
For those wondering why... We believe we have evidence of an issue in take 110, which most likely did not happen in take 68.
Since the issue is intermittent and very hard to debug, a workaround would be to return to take 68 and verify the issue does not happen there. And yes, we have an open case, but as said... it's hard to debug... It's also not my preferred scenario.

The answers are yes and yes.
However, consider doing it on both cluster members. If the version is not aligned up to the HFA level, this is a non-supported configuration. It may work, but not recommended.
