Migrating existing CML to new MLM

Greetings,

Currently, we have a setup with 1 MLM hosting 5 CLMs. We are planning to migrate the 5 CLM to a new MLM but I am not sure if it is possible without a clean install.

Is it possible to "move" the CMLs from the current MLM to the new MLM? The idea is to use the same CLM IPs and simply add them to the new MLM ,if possible without losing old logs in the process(we will not reuse the old MLM IP, new MLM is new hardware and has its own IP).

I appreciate any help on the matter.

If you want to migrate to a new MLM you will need to clean install the MLM either way.

But lets say you want to migrate I think it might be similar to same operations for MDS. There's an operation for "Migrating a Domain Management Server between R82 Multi-Domain Servers", I believe it should be similar in much of the steps.

AFAIK this was never tested though, I might be wrong though.

My suggestion - since you will need to perform clean install on target server anyway, just do the migration as suggested. I bet this will be the easiest and will pose the least issues and research.

Kind regards, Amir Senn
