MDS in High Availability and domains licensing

Hi,

We are setting up MDS environment in HA (active/standby). We will have 5 separate domains.

The question is will we need one license that covers 5-domains or two CPSB-DMN-5  licenses for each physical MDS server?

Each machine will require its own domain license for the necessary quantity.

It means that the official Support AI is not providing correct information when the same question was asked?

This is the reply:

You do not need two separate domain licenses for each Multi-Domain Server in a High Availability (HA) environment.

How Domain Licensing Works in MDS HA

  • Domain licenses are associated with the domains (CMAs), not with the physical Multi-Domain Servers (MDS) themselves.
  • When you set up Multi-Domain Security Management in HA, you have a Primary MDS and one or more Secondary MDS.
  • The domain licenses are installed and managed centrally, and are distributed to all relevant servers in the HA environment.
