Just wondering if anyone has any experience having primary and secondary MDS being separated over long distance - I mean intercontinental. Say Europe and Americas with latency 200ms+. We are talking R80.10 MDS.
Does it work OK?
Any downsides or side-effects?
We thought of moving the secondary MDS closer to gateways running across the ocean thus making local admin SmartDashboard experience better and saving on unnecessary log transfer.
I'm just little worried that 200ms latency might throw spanner in the works.
Not aware of any specific issues related to keeping your MDS servers geographically distributed.
We have a number of large customers who do this.
Thanks Dameon! Does log search / indexing work ok as well? We will have half of the logs in Europe servers and half in Americas in such case. Would global log search still work "fast" covering all CMAs?
For cross-CMA log searches, I'll have to defer to the community
