MDS - Changing Leading VIP Interface in R80.40 after clean install

Hi,

Recently I clean installed a Smart-1 5150 with R80.40. By default, the Mgmt interface is the Leading VIP Interface. If you like to change this, you should go to mdsconfig on the CLI and choose option 1 "Leading VIP Interfaces". Then again choose option 1 "Add external IPv4 interface", When you try this, you'll get the following message:

The following real interfaces are defined on this machine:
no external interfaces found on this machine

I have two active interfaces, bond1 (eth1 and eth2) and eth3 with ip-adresses on them, but they are not recognized. I like the Leading VIP Interface to be on bond1.

The way to change the Leading VIP Interface is to edit the file: $MDSDIR/conf/external.if (/var/opt/CPmds-R80.40/conf/external.if).

It is very important to change this file as soon as possible after the First Time Wizard. The change will be active after you have rebooted your MDS.
