It is unclear what are you struggling with.
Generally speaking, you need to perform several steps:
1. Install VM machine as a Primary Security Management Server (SMS) by following the relevant Installation manual chapter.
2. On your old SMS, export management database
3. On your new server, import the database.
Both 2 and 3 steps are described in the Installation guilde, for example, here, in the Advanced Upgrade chapter.

I would like to clarify my situation regarding migrating the Security Management Server (SMS) from my Check Point device appliances to a new Virtual Machine. We are currently using a Check Point device configured as an All-in-One appliance where both Security Management Server (SMS) and Gateway roles are on the same physical hardware.
I need to move the Security Management Server (SMS) to a Virtual Machine (VM) while leaving the Gateway role on the existing hardware device.
Problem:
When I try running cpconfig on the device, I cannot find any options related to the SMS role.
I also do not see any options in the GAiA WebUI for removing or modifying the SMS role.
