How to generate a pre upgrade verifier report for R81.10 upgrade?

Hi All,

We are planning to upgrade a R80.40 Management server to R81.10. However, earlier we were able to find a pre_upgrade_verifier tool and we needed to run it before a major version upgrade to verify the database compatibility. However, I suppose now that tool is replaced with Upgrade Tools package. We followed the sk135172 but we were getting errors with the below command.

#$FWDIR/scripts/migrate_server verify -v R81.10 

According to the errors, it is asked to update the Upgrade tools package to the latest one but we have already done that. Our management server does not have the internet access.

Then we tried with the below command. The action was successful but we were unable to find any report.

#$FWDIR/scripts/migrate_server verify -skip_upgrade_tools_check -v R81.10 

Can someone let us know what is the most suitable method to get a the pre_upgrade_verfier report?

Thanks for the update. However, our concern is to get a pre-upgrade verifier report to check whether there are any warnings or errors. Is there any method we can do using the Upgrade Tools?

Just start migrate_server export (use sk176603: migrate_server import gets stuck in R81.10 if any issues appear) - log files and html then is as found here sk163814: Security Management Upgrade (new upgrade process).

If you see issues you have to fix, you can delete the export file.

The upgrade verifier was necessary coming from R77.x as there were a number of things that would block a successful upgrade to R80.x due to the substantial changes in architecture.
Once you’re on R80.x, upgrading to R81.10 should not present any blocking issues.

Hi, 

Indeed when upgrading to R80.x there is no pre-upgrade-verification report. However the pre-upgrade-verifier is still available for use and I recommend to use it.

There are 2 ways to run the pre-upgrade-verifier when upgrading to R81 (or lower version):

1. Gaia portal -> status and actions (CPUSE) -> right click on the desired version's package -> verify.

A pop-up window will present the pre-upgrade-verification result. 

2. Run " $FWDIR/scripts/migrate_server verify -skip_upgrade_tools_check -v R81.10", the pre-upgrade-verification result will be printed to the screen

In R81.10 new Management APIs introduced - allowing export, import, migration and upgrade of full Management server or only a single domain from an MDS. 

So when upgrading to R81.10 pre-upgrade-verification can be done also using export-management API.

Very soon an enhanced upgrade report will be introduced including a brand new section for pre-upgrade-verification, in addition to the existing sections of export and import.  

This enhanced upgrade report will be released in one of the next upgrade tools packages for R81 and R81.10. 

It will be published in sk163814 once released.
